U Factor: U Factor measures thermal insulation. The U Factor indicates how easily heat will flow through the window, whereas the R Factor indicates the opposite, how well the window will resist heat flow. The lower the U Factor, the better a window insulates.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC): SHGC measures the amount of solar radiation admitted through a window. The lower a window’s SHGC, the less solar heat is transmitted into the house and the easier it is to keep your house cool in summer.
On the other hand, in northern climates, a higher SHGC can provide beneficial passive solar heating in the winter. Aspect offers a variety of high-performance Low-E glass packages with varying SHGC ratings to suit your needs, based on your needs.
Visible Transmittance (VT): VT measures the percentage of visible light that is admitted through the window. High-performance glass packages have been designed to enhance a window’s thermal performance by blocking ultraviolet and infrared light while maximizing visible light transmission. Clear glass itself blocks about 20% of visible light.
All of ProVia’s windows are tested to standards set forth by the American Architectural Manufacturer’s Association (AAMA) for structural performance. Air infiltration, water penetration, and structural wind loads are three commonly referenced tests.
What Is Air Infiltration? The amount of air that passes through the seals of a window’s operating sashes per minute, per square foot of window. Using a typical vinyl window would be like having a hole in the wall of your home, leaking 9.68 balloons worth of air per minute!
High-quality, energy-efficient windows have air infiltration ratings lower than 0.3. ProVia’s Aspect Series windows achieve an excellent air infiltration rating of 0.05 or below.
Super Spacer® Aspect Windows: ProVia uses advanced Super Spacer® technology as a standard to create insulated glass with a warm edge around the perimeter. The edge of the glass is typically the coldest spot on the window and can be prone to condensation.
Other windows use glass panes with rectangular aluminum that conducts the heat away from the inner pane of glass, which results in a cold edge. Super Spacer® is a non-metallic, structural foam spacer.
Super Spacer® blocks heat escape, dramatically reduces condensation, and offsets the effects of temperature changes that prevent stress cracks.
INNERGY® Thermal Reinforcements: In addition to Super Spacer®, ProVia also uses INNERGY® thermal reinforcements in their windows instead of aluminum. This is an innovative and energy-efficient alternative that is 700 times better than aluminum in material comparisons on thermal performance.

Great company, courteous employees who are experts in their field and go out of their way to satisfy the customer. We have had several projects completed and are so very happy with the way each was looking when finished. Will definitely call them again. Just today, on a holiday weekend, salesman Daryel came to the house to show me the correct way to lower my upper window to be cleaned, now that is really going out of his way for a customer!

I am enclosing a separate check with the request you divide it equally between the two men who installed my windows. Not only did they do an excellent job, but they did it under adverse weather conditions. Had it been my job I would have had to come inside occasionally to warm up. I invited them to come inside for a warm cup of coffee when needed, but they chose to stay outside, even to eat their lunch. There men were not only efficient in their job, but also courteous. they are deserving od an acknowledgment of thanks for a job well done. Please excuse the poor penmanship at 92 it seems my eyesight and penmanship are diminishing together. Happy holidays & a blessed Christmas.

After another disaster trying to use a York county contractor – this time for some simple landscaping because I supposedly have hypertension – I want to thank you again for making the effort to come and fix the window on the sunroom. In brief, they tore out my garden lights along the pathway for some unknown reason (I made him buy me new solar ones), mowed down a bunch of my wife's flowers(I could've done that), and damaged the asphalt drain lip on my driveway backing a trailer in – especially after I told the guy to be careful. He promised to fix it but after two weeks it still wasn't done so I didn't pay him the other half of the job. Sipe's Sealcoating, one of the few good and reliable outfits around here, said he'd fix the lip for forty bucks so I'm actually ahead. Needless to say my blood pressure doubled and I used some very unchurchlike language when their boss showed up – I was fit to be tied. So I want you and your company to know again I appreciate your time and effort on my behalf and will recommend your company without hesitation and you as a contact in particular. Best regards and appreciation,
- Dave Wint
